I decided on the Memoright 32GB. Ouch!!!, big money for me. My credit card is smoking. I have a feeling that I am going to be pleased with this purchase regardless of the high price. You only live once and it is only money. I just can't make myself wait 2 years when the prices of these drives will probably be 60% of what they are now.

I am really interested in how the instant/secure erase feature works.

6 months ago, that drive would have cost $2499. That was a great deal for our customers who were used to paying more for lower performing SSDs from Adtron, BitMicro, etc. OUR cost not long ago was what you are paying now. I think prices have stabilized now.

Anyhow, congrats on your purchase. We have a storage server company that tested MTRON PRO side by side with the Memoright you purchased, and they actually preferred your selection; the Memoright.

SECURE ERASE dept: Memoright is working on the utility to perform secure erase. They said that they will send it to us in about two weeks. This Non-destructive secure erase, when commanded, will cause the drive to write 0's across the entire drive, thereby erasing it. And because Memoright has the fastest write speed of any drive on the planet, it can perform this function faster than any other drive. Aside from Memoright, the only other SSDs right now that can do it are the uuber expensive brands mentioned earlier in this message.

Reminds me of the first mobile phone I bought cost me £1100 sterling (i.e. about US$1700)
back in 1980's.
